Day 30

Scripture:

"You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." (1 Peter 2:5)

Content:

When you hear the word "priest," you might picture someone wearing a clerical collar or a long robe. You might think of Aaron’s elaborate garments described in Exodus and Leviticus. However, the New Testament describes the church as a kingdom of priests, where every Christian serves as a priest. The priests of Israel had four main responsibilities: to testify about God, to distribute resources to those in need, to lead people to seek God's forgiveness, and to intercede on behalf of others. Let us pray that we may fulfill our role as priests in God’s kingdom.

Prayer: Praying to Be a Kingdom of Priests

God, I am honored to know that You have called us to represent You. Help us to recognize the opportunities before us so that we may fulfill our priestly roles in this community. Give us clear direction to reveal You to others, help those in need, and lead people to become Your children. Amen!
